What is Parental Allowance?
An allowance introduced to reduce the economic burden of childbirth and child-rearing and to support intensive care during infancy, paid to parents with children under 2 years old.
Support Amount
- 0 years old (0-11 months): 1 million won per month
- 1 year old (12-23 months): 500,000 won per month
Notes
If using a daycare center, it is provided as a childcare fee voucher, and any difference is paid in cash. Must be applied for within 60 days of birth to receive retroactive payment from the month of birth.
